Photographer's Workroom is an 8-week class in project creation and portfolio development.
We'll study a number of photographer/artist portfolios as a means of learning and understanding.
There will be several class assignments to stimulate thinking creatively and responsively to suggested prompts.
Emphasis will be on photography as process and practice, and using our cameras as a way of seeing.
Although technical questions will be addressed as they arise, this is not a technical ‘how-to’ class.
All cameras and levels of ability and experience are welcome, as is any method or medium of image making.
The only requirement is that of presence and a willingness to experiment and explore.
Each student will choose an individual project that he/she might like to pursue during the course of our time together.
While working on our projects, we’ll meet and engage in supportive critical discussions of each other’s work.
The end goal is for each student to have a completed and cohesive body of work (10-12 images) that speaks to a set intention or story.
We'll close with a communal exhibit of our work, with the hopes of archiving, showing and sharing it all together on a website.
