The sun was only beginning to burn thru the morning fog.
It was - perhaps - the first time I'd noticed.
The changing colors.
I've watched the beginnings of the occasional leaf falling. We all know what's coming.
But here and today and in this in-between and before it all transforms itself to rich golds and fiery reds - it's muted.
It's painterly beautiful.
It's September. After all.
I stopped to look....to fully absorb the moment.
I almost didn't see.
She was there all along.
