It was too hot...too cool...too wet...too dry.
The sun shone in endless abundance. It hardly shone at all.
It rained. It didn't.
The grass grew. The birds and and bees and butterflies proliferated. The flowers blossomed.
It came. And - it went.
Once and again - summer has passed much too quickly.
No matter which side of the fence one sits - there is no question.
It's been a summer of grounding down...of finding roots...of re-settling.
It's been a summer of growth. Of steps and mis-steps.
Of finding balance...losing it...and re-calibrating.
Of strength training.
It's been a summer of learning. Always - of learning.
Who I am. What I wish for. Where it is that I might go searching.
It's always one step-at-a-time.
With deepest appreciation and gratitude for this precious moment.
Only another beginning.
Of finding a new rhythm...a new rhyme....a new way of walking in this world.
In these mountains.
Without a mother.
