Quiet Miracles

June 16, 2016 Marcie Scudder

I looked once.
My eye was drawn to the moment's simplicity.
Its quiet.
Black and white and endless greys...grounded in shades of green.

I looked twice.
My heart was drawn to the rainbow of color.
Its beauty.
Its silent message of hope....of possibility.

I waited for her to raise her head...to stand up and take notice...to look..to see.
She never stopped. Not once.
Not for she.
Not for me.

I looked one last time.
I marveled at the miracle of it all.
How lucky we are - she and me - to just be.
In this place. In this time.
To feel its peace.
