Re-Turnings

It's possible that I gave up hope.

This season of much awaited spring - as I've known and loved - was just not going to happen. I'm not sure what I expected...but that - somehow and whatever it was - it certainly wasn't this.

Again - I'm reminded of re-turnings. Of nature's never-ending ability to re-store....re-create....re-plenish...re-new. I'm reminded of new beginnings. That one season's last gasp is another's first breath. Beginning again.

I'm reminded of one year ago...and all of the years before this. How it is that I'm now more acutely aware of the preciousness of the moment....of the precariousness of life - than I've ever been.

And so - when the late afternoon light shone brightly on this sweet spring flower - I smiled. There's still hope. There's still promise.

We show up...we do our work...and we let go.

The world is is a wondrous and beautiful place.

Isn't it?
