And there they were.
Two sweet girls.
From the safety and warmth of their barn...they'd come out to greet me. To smile in the early-season snow. To remind me.
Every thing has changed.
All that was...is no longer. This particular holiday....in this particular year is going to be hard. No thing ever remains the same. There will be an empty chair at this year's table.
Their eyes spoke louder than words ever could.
We're grateful to be here. We're grateful for the cold. We're grateful to be healthy and strong and alive and free. We're grateful that we're cows instead of something other. We're grateful for this day.
Somehow - I found comfort and warmth in their soft feminine energy and gaze.
I think they came out just to remind and reassure.
This is new. This is the first year. Give it time and space and air to heal. It's all going to be okay.
