Small Clues

A pair of long thin spindly legs.

Grey and and grey feathers.

An willow weeping. A pond. A beautiful early morning. A distant sun rising.

And there you have it. A few small clues that  - when strung together - tell a much bigger story. A story of an early morning fisherman. A one who lurks in the quiet of the shadows....seeking out his daily catch.

A story that speaks to patience and perseverance....of single solitary concentrated focus. The prize - he knows - is right there in that pose.

A story that speaks to discipline and art. To simply showing up and creating. Whatever the day will will be. It'll be his making.

Amazing - I thought - the stories I can tell when I'm out and about and sleuthing. Amazing - how much we know from one single pair of hiding.
