The twelfth day of the twelfth month of the twelfth year. Some experience it once in a lifetime. Others - never experience it at all.
As I looked up at the bare branches that framed the December sky - I thought that perhaps I'd never seen anything quite as simple or as beautiful...that I'd never seen 'this' before.
And then...and once again - I thought how very lucky I am. To experience - just this. This cold fresh air. This ground that is hard and frozen. These bare branches...and a sky that is vast and expansive.
It's all so very everyday ordinary - isn't it? - on a day that is oh so very not.
