Choosing to See

No need to look up to see the colors of the dawning morn. I could feel the light. I could see them in the reflecting waters.

From brilliant reds and faded pinks. From light. From day.

At first glance - they were nothing other than some sticks and stones. Ordinary...everyday. Not something anyone would give a second glance or chance.

But - when I stopped and glanced again - I saw what it was I'd come to see.

Tiny long-legged...elegant and graceful - dancers. Siegfried with his swan Odette....James with his  sylph....Clara dancing alongside her princely nutcracker. All of them - surrounded by their chorus.

And - I thought I so often do - it's amazing what we see if we choose to look. It's amazing what we choose to see when we're not quite looking.
