Fungi. Simple mushrooms that sprout magically while we sleep. One day they're here..the next - they've disappeared. As quickly as they rise...they fall.
When I look at these miniature marvels of nature - it reminds me of Eero Saarinen's architectural wonders. Simple..sweeping curves and lines. Grace. Majesty. Beauty.
I have to wonder if they didn't inspire him..as they inspire me.
Known as one of the greatest architects of the 20th century..he died far too soon and far too young. And yet - unlike the mushrooms that come and go - the structures he designed remain. Strong and solid and true.
A memorial and a tribute to a gifted sculptor and artist.
